Cool For School Giveaway #15
Sing-A-Lingo
A little about Buenas Noches, Amigos:
What we thought: This is a great starter book for introducing the Spanish language to children. The story is short and interesting enough to keep even the littlest ones engaged. Buenas Noches, Amigos is a fun way to teach and learn Spanish. Both of our kiddos enjoyed hearing the book and listening to the songs over and over again. ABCD Diaries gives Sing-A-Lingo and Buenas Noches, Amigos an A and our Cool For School Seal of Approval!!
Sing-A-Lingo
Thanks to Sing-A-Lingo, we recently had the chance to review Buenas Noches, Amigos:
The Sing-A-Lingo® Story
"Piña and Michael Madera, co-founders of Sing-A-Lingo, are Spanish speaking parents who made the decision to raise bilingual children. Seeking products that would support their efforts, Piña and Michael tried a variety of learning aids available on the market–music, movies and books. While they found that some were helpful, they had trouble finding products that integrated useful Spanish for kids into their daily lives.
Piña and Michael found that most Spanish teaching materials pinpoint simple nouns or colors, with limited communicative language. Others simply translated traditional songs, like “Old McDonald.” Determining that “cow” had limited uses in their daily life, Piña and Michael were more interested in teaching phrases like “I’m hungry,” or “Hurry up, put on your coat.” And as musicians themselves, they also wanted to create music-based materials that offered fun melodies and lyrics for parents and children to enjoy equally. Frustrated with the options available, Piña and Michael developed Sing-A-Lingo to help address their own needs, as well as to help others in their same situation."

A little about Buenas Noches, Amigos:
Create your own bedtime routine in Spanish! This colorful picture book follows a youngster, his cat and an adventurous mouse on a journey from bathtub bubbles to sweet dreams. The 2 songs provide a soundtrack for singing along, as the lyrics serve as the text for the stories. (Songs included through instant download to your computer and/or iPod-digital music player). Text is provided in both Spanish and English, and the songs are also printed with musical notation for creating your own sing-alongs. This book has been written and published by Sing-A-Lingo as part of the En Mi Casa Spanish-All-Day Program. Our goal it to help parents and children engage with text in Spanish (and English) while reinforcing the vocabulary and connections with our popular Burbujas/Bubbles and Buenas Noches/Good Night songs. En Mi Casa is a great way to sing, laugh and learn.
