We recently had the chance to review a couple samples of Scotch from The Scotch Malt Whisy Society of America:

"The Scotch Malt Whisky Society of America is the world's foremost destination for whisky lovers. The Society only bottles whiskies from individual casks or barrels from 120 of the world’s best distilleries. Each bottle is exceptional and limited in availability, and only Members have access.

Each Society Gift Membership starts with the custom Membership box, three carefully selected 100ml single cask, single malt whiskies, plus other Society goodies. These samples give a taste not only of the Society as a whole, but also the delectable single cask single malts offered. Then, each month, a carefully curated collection of rare single malt whiskies is made available to the members to choose the ones they desire.

We tried two samples to taste the cask strength of the Scotch they provide.  
B tried them and said both were very tasty.  Each sample came with a notecard with lots of information:  the bottling date, the color and flavor notes and pairing suggestions.

B really liked the idea of this membership.
B concluded that this subscription would make a wonderful gift idea for Father's Day.  It's a little on the pricey side, but if you have a dad that enjoys the finer things, this membership would be well worth it:)
