We recently had the chance to review the Salve Mix Kit from Bulk Herb Store:
The Salve Kit includes a 1/2 lb. of each Green Salve Mix, Arthritis Salve Mix, and Muscle Salve Mix. It also includes 1 lb. of beeswax, and six metal cans with lids. Each bag of mix will make approximately 16-24 oz. of salve, that's a lot of salve!
The Green Salve Mix contains: Plantain Leaf, Calendula Flower, Comfrey Leaf, Yarrow Flower, Rosemary Leaf, Echinacea Root, Echinacea Leaf
This is a great salve to have around for use on everything. You can rub it on wounds or put some on problem areas, then wrap it, and let the salve work.
The Arthritis Salve Mix contains: Ginger Root, Echinacea Leaf, St. John’s Wort, Boswellia Serrata, Cayenne
Whether you or one of your friends struggle with joint pain, this is a great salveto have on hand. Each herb has benefits that come together to relieve inflammation, fight pain, and promote circulation. Rub this salve onto the sore areas as often as needed.
The Muscle Salve Mix contains: St. John’s Wort, Arnica Flowers, Lobelia Leaf, Comfrey Leaf, Peppermint Leaf, Cayenne
This salve penetrates the skin and soothes damaged muscles, while reducing inflammation. Rub this salve onto the sore muscle as often as needed.
The label on each package gives step-by-step instructions on how to make the salve and it isn't in the least bit hard! First you mix the herbs with a jar of oil, we used coconut oil, and put the jar in a crockpot of water on low for 3 days.
This infuses the therapeutic properties of the herb blend into the oil.
Then you mix the strained oil with beeswax, pour into the metal tin, and in an hour or so, you have salve!
It's pretty fool proof...in fact, we put a little too much beeswax in the first time and it was an easy fix. We just heated up the mixture again and added a little more oil. You can do this until the salve reaches your preferred consistency. Easy Peasy!
We are loving our salves, especially the Green Salve! It's so versatile and actually provides results and relief. As always, we believe a simple homemade treatment is better than any chemical-filled medicine you can find at the drugstore.
