Spring Break Destination: The Resort at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels! #usfg

It's Spring Break and we've got everything you need to know about planning a fun trip to The Resort at Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels!

We got to spend a few days enjoying the many amenities of both the resort and the waterpark.  We checked in to our recently remodeled room and were pleased to find it clean and comfortable:

You get room keys attached to lanyards so that while you're enjoying the park, you can always keep them nearby.

The property is located along the banks of the Comal River and is home to some really beautiful flora and fauna.

The resort had lovely landscaped areas and provides many feeders throughout for the birds and squirrels.

The resort is hosting nightly activities this week in the courtyard including games (think ladderball, washers and giant Jenga:) family-friendly movies, popcorn and s'mores.

The resort has 3 heated pools to relax in and an arcade that is open nightly.

Then, of course, there is the waterpark:)  Blastenhoff is the only section of the park opened for Spring Break and Easter, but there is plenty to do to keep you busy for a couple of days.  Check out the attractions and info on each below:

Bamboozle Bay

Swim up and relax right in the middle of the action. This heated pool is located under the famous Master Blaster. Have a drink or just take a break from the day in a beautiful setting.

The Black Knight

You share an inner tube made for two as you slide down these twin, totally enclosed water slides. You're not afraid of the dark, are you? The Black Knight plunges riders into eerie darkness on two-person inflatable tubes. Two black fiberglass tunnels begin six stories up Blastenhoff Tower. From there riders speed down over 550 feet of totally enclosed black tunnel, negotiating twists and drops in the dark!

Blastenhoff Beach

Relax away the day on the Beaches leading to the Torrent River. Read and get some sun or play in the waves coming up the shore.

The Torrent

Take a journey on an endless river where tidal waves break around every turn as you travel throughout the Blastenhoff section of the park.

Han's Hideout

A five-story water fun house with dueling water cannons, dumping water, and dozens of hands-on water features plus four fun body slides. How a friendly, German pirate ended up in the middle of Texas is a long story. But kids of all ages can enjoy the hideaway he left behind! Han's Hideout is a multi-level, five-story-tall water funhouse filled with all sorts of hands-on water play elements. There're dumping buckets, water cannons, net crawls, tunnels, slides and more. And to cap it all off, the bow of old Han's shipwreck dumps 500-gallons of water on everyone below every few minutes.

Kinderhaven

A great shallow wading pool for kids with a little pirate ship and soft slides. Kinderhaven was specially planned for families with small children. It's a shallow water playground separated from the rest of Blastenhoff's high-spirited activities, but conveniently located in the middle of all the action. Surrounded by shaded seating and open sun-lounging areas, Kinderhaven lets both kids and parents have fun. Kids will love to explore the miniature pirate ship with its slides and water cannons. The littlest ones can splash around in a shaded section of the pool.

Master Blaster

Six stories tall! Over 1000 feet in length! This ride has been voted the best water ride in the United States time and time again! Selected as the best water ride in the nation again and again, Master Blaster combines the up and down thrills of a roller coaster with the unique experience of being propelled by jets of water. Riders ascend to the top of the Blastenhoff Tower where they find two-passenger inflatable boats waiting for them. Once in position on the launch platform, they are sent down a three-story plunge, then back up three stories and into a twisting tunnel. Riders get a brief glimpse of the tower they just left before dropping once again. Master Blaster continues its course, figure-eighting around the tower, blasting uphill and down before entering the climatic pretzel-shaped downward spiral. Master Blaster is non-stop action! Master Blaster uses patented technology first developed for Schlitterbahn by our sister company, NBGS International, Inc., a worldwide leader in innovative water ride technology.

Wolf Pack

A howling, family downhill raft ride through twists and turns in a giant, circular raft. Starting from the top of Blastenhoff Tower, the Wolfpack allows entire families the chance to experience water thrills together. Large, 72-inch, inflatable rafts are brought to the top of the tower by a conveyor system. These rafts can accommodate up to three people. The ride course takes guests through a series of twists, turns and drops before splashing down five stories below.

What's even better?  Schlitterbahn offers free parking, shuttles to and from the water park and the resort and you can bring in your own food.  There are plenty of shady picnic areas for you to set up camp and trained life guards galore keeping everyone safe.  They also offer free tubes and life jackets for the kiddos.

We had a blast at the Resort at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels!
