Red sauce is a staple around our house. We eat a lot of it, so we pretty much always have it on hand, but a few years ago, we gave up on the store-bought varieties and started making it from scratch. We are pretty picky about the taste of our red sauce and those jarred options weren't cutting it. They were often too sweet for our taste or not spiced to our liking. However, making a big batch of red sauce can be time consuming and every once in a while we'd plan a meal that included sauce only to find that we had depleted our freezer stash of homemade sauce or didn't have time to thaw a jar. Luckily, we recently got to try out a few jars of red sauce from Uncle Steve's Italian Specialties, and our minds have been changed about jarred sauce!
Fun side note, the Steve behind Uncle Steve's is Steve Schirippa, best known for his role of Bobby Baccalieri in The Sopranos!
We were able to sample two of the three varieties of Uncle Steve's sauce, the Marinara and the Tomato Basil and both were absolutely fantastic!
Both of these sauces are so flavorful and versatile. They can be used in so many different recipes and are simply delicious!
Whether using Uncle Steve's as a sauce or a dip, you are sure to have big smiles and full bellies!
You can find Uncle Steve's Italian Specialties at fine grocers nationwide.
