#GiftsForKids - Bitsbox Coding for Kids Subscription Box! #HolidayGiftGuide

*DISCLOSURE* Thank you to Bitsbox for providing product samples in order to facilitate this post.  All thoughts are strictly my own.

Do you have a kid coder on your gift giving list this year?  If so, we found an awesome gift idea for you...Bitsbox!

Bitsbox is an intro to coding subscription box designed for 6 to 12 year olds interested in coding and creating apps.  With Bitsbox, kids learn to program by copying apps and making them their own and let me tell you, our resident coder, 11 year old D, had a blast with his first box!

Here's what you get in the intro box:

How to get started info page

Basically, you get a computer with a physical keyboard and go to the Bitsbox site.

Trading Cards

Temporary Tattoos

A couple of fun goodies to build excitement around your new hobby box.

App cards

The cards you will need with the instructions for coding the apps.

App Tracker

A great way to keep track of the apps you've completed.

Stickers

More fun goodies and can be used for app tracking.

Grown Up Guide

The parent's handbook to help guide your kiddos through the app creating process.  Plus, it lets you know exactly what your kiddos are learning in coding!

Bitsbox Binder

The perfect storage solution for all of your app instruction cards and coding goodies!

Cubebot Areaware

A fun wooden coding buddy and brain teaser.

Every box comes with a mix of coding projects, ranging from simple to more advanced.  Kids start with the code provided in the materials, then change it to make it their own. D loved tweaking the codes to produce funny and outlandish characters and scenes.  It was pretty simple to figure out once he got started and then the laughter ensued 😊

Kid coders can use and share their apps on any mobile device and once created, Bitsbox apps run on any computer, tablet, or phone with a web browser.  There are hundreds of crazy fun apps to build and share.

Learning to program is just like learning any language. The earlier you start, the easier it is. Kids can use Bitsbox as soon as they can read and write.  This is a fantastic intro to coding program and is fun for more experienced kid coders as well.  As a parent, you don't need to know anything about code to help your kid learn with Bitsbox.

Here is the pricing breakdown:

Basic Bitsbox from $24.95/month

A dozen app projects and a nifty binder to keep them organized!

Deluxe Bitsbox from $37.95/month (what we reviewed)
Everything that comes in the Basic Bitsbox, plus extra projects and fun goodies!

Digital Bitsbox from $16.95/month

D absolutely loved Bitsbox and said it was a pretty cool intro to coding.  He thought the instructions were easy to follow and the apps were really fun.  He especially loved that he could explore his own variations of the codes he learned.  We would definitely recommend Bitsbox for any kiddo interested in coding fun!
