#GiftsForKids - Xyloba Orchestra Musical Marble Track #HolidayGiftGuide

*DISCLOSURE* Thank you to Xyloba for providing product samples in order to facilitate this post.  All thoughts are strictly my own.

Do you have a kiddo who loves making music?  Or maybe loves to build and experiment with the physics of marble tracks?  Or maybe both?  We absolutely love today's gift idea for pretty much any kiddo.  Check out Xyloba:

Xyloba, is the marble run that makes music.  Consisting of various components and sound modules, Xyloba allows the player to construct countless tracks and melodies.

Various rhythms are defined by the length of the ramps and tunes are generated by the tone of the sound modules. Xyloba allows children to have loads of fun discovering and recognizing different note values, for instance ½ notes, ¼ notes, ⅛ notes as well as their dotted forms. The 20 different chimes, which range chromatically from G2 to D4, help distinguish between pitches and intervals.

Xyloba comes in several different kits and the kit we are featuring today is the Xyloba Orchestra.  Xyloba orchestra is ideally suited for kindergartens and nursery schools, but my 11 year old has been having a ball experimenting with it! The large number of building components means you can create a great variety of marble runs, using the 16 interchangeable sound modules to produce very fun and creative melodies.

Xyloba develops motor function and spatial imagination, and facilitates a creative approach to music. The simple interlocking Xyloba system allows an almost unlimited number of variations.

Xyloba musical marble runs are manufactured in the sheltered workshops of the Weizenkorn Foundation in Basel. Using raw wood, the individual Xyloba parts are drilled out, cut and sanded. Several manufacturing steps are performed manually and give people with disabilities the opportunity to be involved in a meaningful activity.  Xyloba is truly a wonder from Switzerland that can last for generations because of the high quality craftsmanship.

The booklet that comes with the kit is incredibly easy to follow along with using picture cues to help kiddos build marble runs that make well-known existing melodies:

Of course, creating your very own melody masterpieces can be just as fun!  D made several different runs, but he had one that was his very favorite (so far:)  Check it out:

We are having so much fun playing with our Xyloba Orchestra!  It has already provided us with hours of creative fun and is teaching some great lessons of physics and the foundations of melody and musicality.

Xyloba's kits are just as beautiful as they are educational and they are a great way to get kiddos excited about learning.  Check them out is you want thoughtful gift that is sure to get used for years to come!
